Terms of Service

Last updated: 12 May 2026

These Terms govern your use of Chillframe, the service that generates lofi YouTube videos with AI and (optionally) publishes them to a channel you own. By creating an account or paying for a subscription, you agree to what's written here.

1. The service

Chillframe ("we", "us") provides software that turns short text prompts into long-form lofi videos: generative music paired with looping or motion visuals, with the option to auto-publish them to a YouTube channel you connect via Google OAuth. Plans differ in monthly credit allowance, available video types, and channel features as described on our pricing page.

The service is provided on a software-as-a-service basis. We host, run, and update it. You don't need to install anything; you access it through the web app at chillframe.com.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use Chillframe. If you're using the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

We support Google sign-in and email magic-link sign-in. You're responsible for the activity on your account, including keeping the email inbox tied to it secure. If you lose access to that inbox you may lose access to your account; we cannot restore accounts to a different identity.

One person may operate multiple Chillframe workspaces (organisations), for example one per YouTube channel, but each workspace carries its own subscription.

3. Subscriptions, trials & billing

How billing works

Chillframe is sold as a monthly subscription per workspace. Current plans are Starter, Creator, and Pro; prices are shown at checkout and on the pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically on a 30-day cycle until you cancel them.

Payment is processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your full card number. By starting a subscription you authorise Stripe to charge the card on file at the start of each billing period and agree to Stripe's terms in addition to ours.

Free trial

New workspaces start with a 3-day free trial of the plan you select. We collect your card details up front so that the subscription can convert seamlessly, but you are not charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends you pay nothing.

Trials are limited to one per workspace and one per person; we may decline a trial where we reasonably believe it's being abused (for example, repeat sign-ups under different email addresses to avoid paying).

Taxes

Prices are shown excluding VAT, sales tax, and similar transaction taxes unless stated otherwise. Where required, those taxes are added at checkout based on your billing location.

4. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel any time from the Billing portal inside your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; your videos and credits remain usable until then, and you won't be charged again.

Subscriptions are non-refundable for partially used months. If we cancel your subscription because we're no longer offering the service, we'll refund the unused portion of your current period on a pro-rata basis. For any other refund request, write to hi@chillframe.com and we'll review on a case-by-case basis.

If you're a consumer in the UK or the EU/EEA, you have a statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of signing up. By starting to generate videos during the trial or within the first 14 days, you ask us to begin performance immediately and acknowledge that this right of withdrawal lapses once the service has been fully provided (i.e. you've used credits).

5. Your content & AI output

Inputs

"Inputs" means the prompts, references, channel settings, and any other material you submit to Chillframe. You keep ownership of your Inputs. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to process them for the purpose of generating outputs, operating the service, and improving model quality, except where the data is personal data, which is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Outputs

"Outputs" means the videos, audio, thumbnails, and metadata Chillframe generates for you. As between you and us, you own the Outputs and may use them commercially, including publishing them to YouTube under your own channel and monetising them through the YouTube Partner Program. We waive any moral rights to the extent permitted by law.

Two caveats. First, AI-generated content is not unique by construction: similar prompts can produce similar Outputs across different users, so we don't guarantee that your Output is novel. Second, you are responsible for ensuring the Output is lawful in the territories where you publish it (copyright, defamation, cultural appropriation, and platform policies are all on you).

Generated music

Music in Outputs is generated. We grant you a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use the music synced to its Output video on YouTube, social platforms, and personal projects. You can register that video with YouTube's Content ID system to claim unauthorised re-uploads, but you may not register the music as a stand-alone sound recording without our prior written consent; doing so would falsely claim other Chillframe users' identical outputs.

6. YouTube & third parties

If you connect a YouTube channel, Chillframe uses the YouTube Data API and YouTube OAuth to upload videos, set titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and (where you authorise it) schedule publication. By connecting your channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledge the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Chillframe's access at any time from your Google account permissions page.

We rely on a small number of sub-processors to deliver the service: Stripe for billing, Cloudflare for hosting, Google for sign-in and YouTube publishing, and the model providers listed in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for outages, policy changes, or content moderation decisions made by those third parties.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Chillframe to create or publish content that:

  • infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights, including making "type beat" or sound-alike tracks that pretend to be a specific named artist;
  • depicts a real person in a misleading way, sexualises minors, or otherwise breaches applicable child-safety law;
  • promotes violence, terrorism, hate, or self-harm, or constitutes harassment of an identifiable individual;
  • violates YouTube's Community Guidelines or any other platform rules you publish to;
  • is intended primarily to manipulate ad networks, generate fake engagement, or evade content authenticity systems;
  • attempts to reverse-engineer the service, scrape it at scale, extract model weights, or share your account credentials with another person.

We may remove infringing or violating outputs from our systems, restrict your access to model features, and (in serious or repeated cases) terminate your account without refund.

8. Intellectual property

Chillframe, including the brand, the website, the dashboard, the underlying models we've trained or licensed, and the generative pipelines, is owned by us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the service itself. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for its intended purpose during the term of your subscription.

Feedback you send us about the service is non-confidential. We may use it to improve Chillframe without compensation or attribution.

9. Availability & changes

We try to keep the service running 24/7, but we don't promise an uptime SLA. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where practical; emergency maintenance happens when it has to.

We may add, change, or remove features over time. If we make a change that materially reduces the value of your current plan, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and let you cancel for a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of the current period.

10. Disclaimers & liability

The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that Outputs will achieve any specific commercial result on YouTube or elsewhere.

Caps. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) £100. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or lost revenue.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Suspension & termination

Either party can end the relationship: you by cancelling your subscription, us by giving you reasonable notice. We can also suspend or terminate immediately if you materially breach these Terms (for example, the acceptable-use rules above), if a payment is overdue and we've reminded you, or if continuing to serve you would expose us to legal risk.

When the subscription ends, your generated videos remain available for download for 30 days. After that we may delete them. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability caps, governing law) will survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of England have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to your mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence (which take precedence where they apply).

Before filing a claim, please write to hi@chillframe.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

13. Updates to these terms

We may revise these Terms when the service evolves or the law changes. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date counts as acceptance; if you don't agree, cancel before the effective date and we'll issue a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of your current period.

14. Contact

For everything from refund requests and bug reports to legal notices, write to hi@chillframe.com. We aim to reply within two business days.
